India's Border Infrastructure: Unraveling the Strategy That Unsettles China

When Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister and George Fernandes was the Defense Minister, the then BJP government felt that the border area was not yet well prepared for the Indian Army. Because there is lack of infrastructure. And to overcome this, they identified a total of 61 strategic infrastructure locations and it was decided that strategic roads would be built along the entire Line of Actual Control (LAC).

When the Doklam dispute happened, both the countries (India and China) decided to withdraw their troops, but in the year 2020, China again entered the Galwan Valley. There are many reasons behind why this is happening.

The work on the road which was decided during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government was completely stuck during the Congress government between 2004-14. But since 2014, this work is going on at a fast pace and according to the current report, the road is almost ready. The road has now been built in Ladakh and Daulatbeg Oldi also.

Daulatbeg Oldi Area is just below Siachen. And the strategic importance of both of these is so much that it cannot be imagined.

Siachen Glacier is the largest military base in the world, on the other hand, the Indian Air Force is fully prepared at Daulatbeg Oldie, which is below Siachen.

The Galwan Valley over which the dispute took place is about 20 km below Daulatbeg Oldi.

Strengthening its strategic reach, India was not only building a road from Kashmir to Daulatbeg Oldi, along with it, India also built a super bridge on the Darbuk Shayk river. It was completed in 2019.

Now Galvan Valley which is a part of India, it was necessary to connect it. In such a situation, the Modi government decided that from the road leading to Daulatbeg Oldi, a 10 km long link road will take it towards Galwan Valley. Understand the importance of this road that if this link road was not there then it would have taken about 8 hours for the Indian Army to reach Galwan Valley but because of this road now the army can reach in half an hour.

Now when there is Air Force in Daulatbeg Oldi and Indian Army in Galwan Valley, it is natural for China to sweat. This is the only problem of China and China is saying that stop the work on this road, only then we will step back.

In the last years, Modi government made another good move by starting to send tourists to Galwan Valley, due to which India is getting an important advantage, because it is India itself which is giving permission to the tourists.

China felt that India would not be able to build a road till Daulatbeg Oldi because it would not be easy to cut the mountains and build a strategic road, but China was shocked when the road was ready.

India went two steps further and landed C-17 Globemaster and Hercules aircraft at Daulatbeg Oldie and this gave a huge blow to China.

China's real fear is the presence of Indian Air Force in Daulatbeg Oldie because from there we can defeat China immediately but it is not easy for China to reach there. Along with this, Galwan Valley also remains under the surveillance of the Air Force. What's more, the army is also present.

Here we should not think that India has not done anything, India has deployed its army along the entire Line of Actual Control i.e. from Arunachal to Siachen, our Navy is in forward position and China has become nervous because of this.

China is very cleverly playing psychological games to scare Indians, the drama in the media, articles, China's propaganda machinery on social media are all part of the same game.

Sometimes there is firing on the border by Nepal and sometimes intensification of Pakistan's activity, all these are working together. But India is fully prepared and strong, the Army is exempted, the Eastern Fleet Navy is moving forward, the government is alert, the rest of the issue of economic boycott has to be handled by us.
