Various forms of communism are seen in India. Leftism has been active in Indian society through forms like Maoism, Marxism, Leninism, Bolshevikism, Stalinism, Naxalism and Marx-Leninism.

Since its establishment in the year 1920, the objective of the Communist Party of India was not the independence of India or Indian self-rule but loyalty and dedication to the then Soviet Union. This is the reason why when we saw a flood of independence movements in the last decade of India's slavery, leftist groups were missing from them.

When the 'Quit India Movement' started against the British Christian power in the 1940s, the Indian leftist parties and leftist thinkers distanced themselves from this movement. The Left not only sidelined themselves but also started supporting the British Christian government, mainly because of the Indian Left's loyalty to the Soviet Communist regime.

In fact, during the Second World War, there was a secret treaty between Germany's dictator Hitler and Soviet Union's dictator Stalin, under which the Soviets supported Hitler. Due to this secret treaty, the Indian leftists, following the Soviet path, considered Hitler's enemy British power as their enemy, but after this 'Operation Barbarossa' changed everything.

Hitler attacked the Soviet Union and after this Stalin sought the help of the British government. After this incident, the Communist Party of India also changed its stance and started supporting the British.

During this period, when revolutionary activities like 'Quit India Movement' started against the British in India, the Indian communists distanced themselves from all these revolutionary activities to please the Soviets.

On one hand, from Mahatma Gandhi to Subhash Chandra Bose and millions of people of the country were fighting for the independence of the country, on the other hand, Indian communists were supporting the British.

During this World War, on one side were the armies of Germany, Japan and Italy, and on the other side were the armies of the Soviet Union, Britain, France and America.

“In return for opposing the freedom struggle by the Indian leftists and supporting the British, the Communist Party also received a reward from the British government. The British Christian government removed all restrictions on the Communist Party of India and also recognized it.”

After this the Communist Party started carrying out its propaganda and strategy afresh. Pointed fingers at the movements going on across the country and even abused Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. When the entire country was struggling against the British, the Communist Party of India was organizing propaganda like 'National Unity Week' in support of the British.

Seeing these anti-India activities of the communists, the people of the country also started becoming suspicious about the Communist Party, after which Mahatma Gandhi wrote a letter to the communist leader PC Joshi asking him to clarify the stand of the Communist Party. After this, Joshi replied to this letter but did not give information about the party's strategy.

On December 12, 1945, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar had also warned people in a public meeting about leftists. In his speech in Nagpur, he had said that 'I want to warn you that you should stay away from the communists, because by their actions in the last few years they are causing harm to the workers. I am completely convinced that the Communists are their enemies.' Baba Saheb Ambedkar had clearly said that Indian communists do not have any policy of their own, they get all their consciousness from Russia.

In fact, the Communist Party of India was established through an international communist conference, whose main objective was to expand the communist idea of the Soviet Union, which is why the Indian leftists always followed the instructions of the Soviet leaders.

The Indian leftists did not adapt their policies, strategies and ideas to the Indian form and followed the policies of the Soviet Union. Even when the time of struggle came in India's freedom struggle, the Indian leftists preferred the Soviet Communist Party over India, indulged in anti-India activities and openly supported India's enemies.
