Jawans Avenge Tadmetla Incident: Naxalite Commander including 3 Maoists Eliminated in Encounter

It is noteworthy that the security forces have killed these Maoists on the same day on which 14 years ago, Naxalite terrorists had carried out the biggest Maoist terrorist attack on the security forces in Tadmetla. This attack took place on April 6, 2010, in which 76 security forces were martyred.

In a significant operation against Naxalite terrorism, 3 communist terrorists were neutralized in an intense encounter with security forces in the dense forests of Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, bordering Telangana, on Saturday (April 6, 2024). This operation marks another major blow to the Naxalite terrorism, which has been causing havoc and disrupting peace in the region.

The encounter took place in the Pujari Kanker forest along the interstate border. The operation was carried out by the Greyhounds, Telangana’s elite anti-Naxal force, known for their expertise in jungle warfare and counter-insurgency operations. The Greyhounds were on a mission to flush out the Naxalite terrorists from their hideouts when they came under heavy fire. Displaying exemplary courage and tactical acumen, the Greyhounds retaliated effectively, resulting in the elimination of three Naxalite terrorists.

The Chhattisgarh police were also present in the area; provide auxiliary support to the Greyhounds team. Their presence ensured a coordinated and effective response to the Naxalite threat. The operation was a testament to the synergy and cooperation between the security forces of the two states.

A search operation is still underway in the area, with the security forces leaving no stone unturned to ensure that no remnants of the Naxalite group escape their dragnet. The operation underlines the resolve of the security forces to rid the region of the scourge of Naxalite terrorism.

“It is noteworthy that the security forces have killed these Maoists on the same day on which 14 years ago, Naxalite terrorists had carried out the biggest Maoist terrorist attack on the security forces in Tadmetla. This attack took place on April 6, 2010, in which 76 security forces were martyred. ”

By killing the Maoists on the same date, the security forces have also given the message that this is not the India of 2010, where Maoists used to survive even after committing the biggest incidents. Rather, this is the new India where now security forces enter into the strongholds of Maoists and encounter them.

This operation comes on the heels of another successful encounter earlier this week, where at least 13 Naxalites, including three women, were killed by security forces in the same district. These back-to-back successes have dealt a severe blow to the Naxalite terrorists, disrupting their plans and diminishing their capacity to carry out disruptive activities.

With the total number of deaths in encounters this year reaching 48, the security forces determination to thwart the Naxalite challenge remains unchanged, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to restore peace and serenity in the plagued in the region.

As the Lok Sabha elections are underway, it’s important to note the impact of these operations on the political landscape. The successful actions against Naxalite terrorism have bolstered the confidence of the citizens, assuring them that the government is committed to ensuring their safety and security.

Amidst ongoing anti-Naxal operations, the recent encounter in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh has gained significant attention, especially with the identification of one of the deceased Naxalites as Sagar, the commander of Platoon Number 2 within the Maoist organization.

Sagar, a long-standing figure within the Maoist ranks, had a reward of 25 lakh rupees on him, jointly announced by the Telangana and Chhattisgarh governments. His elimination marks a crucial victory for the security forces in their relentless fight against Naxalite terrorism.

The encounter, a result of joint operations between the Greyhounds of Telangana and the Bijapur police, was part of a strategic move to curb Naxalite activities in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections. Recent meetings between senior officers from Telangana and Chhattisgarh police underscored the importance of coordinated efforts in border areas to counter Naxalite threats effectively.

Following this strategic decision, intensive anti-Naxal operations were launched, involving various specialized units including the Greyhounds, CRPF, DRG, STF, and Cobra personnel, deployed in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. The encounter in the forests of Karriguda near the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border resulted in the elimination of three Naxalites, with Sagar being a prominent figure among them.

The recovery of modern weapons such as LMGs and AK-47s from the slain Naxalites underscores the significance of this encounter. Sagar's involvement in numerous major incidents, including the Tadmetla attack in Sukma district on April 6, 2010, where 76 CRPF jawans were martyred, amplifies the impact of his elimination. This encounter serves as a symbolic retribution for the lives lost in the Tadmetla tragedy, fourteen years after the incident.

Bijapur SP Jitendra Yadav emphasized the relentless pursuit of Naxalites by the security forces, indicating continuous operations even in adverse weather conditions. The success in neutralizing Sagar and his associates further tightens the grip of the security forces on Naxalite hideouts, forcing them to retreat from erstwhile safe zones.

The ongoing joint operations between the police of both states underscore the determination to root out Naxalite terrorism from border areas, ensuring peace and security for the residents. The elimination of Sagar, a high-profile Naxalite commander, sends a resounding message about the unwavering commitment of the security forces to combat terrorism and restore tranquility in the region.
