One of the groups that have been a nuisance to the internal security of India since years is the Communist Party of India (Maoist) – CPI (Maoist).

Present since late 1960s, the banned terrorist organisation has recruited many members with the intent of promoting their agenda and causing harm to the country.

In a recent development to curb down the movements of this organisation, many of the members of CPI(M) have been arrested from different parts of the country.

Maoist terrorist Pramod Mishra and his associate Anil Yadav are few such members arrested recently by the police in regards to their major involvement in the CPI(Maoist).

Pramod was an Eastern Regional Bureau Chief in the Maoist organization and a top Maoist leader. He was a wanted Maoist cadre with a bounty of Rs 1 crore. Both Pramod and Anil were arrested on 9th August, 2023 in the Gaya district of Bihar.

Pramod Mishra has been a part of the Maoist organization since many years. To interrogate Pramod about CPI(Maoist), his roles and activities, many agencies including central agency and 5 state agencies were present in the Gaya district.

Officers of National Investigation Agency (NIA) of the Patna and Ranchi region were also present for the interrogation and investigation.

Although the police received information from the interrogation of Anil Yadav, no result was achieved from the interrogation of Pramod Mishra.

Mishra refused to cooperate with the police and did not share any information regarding CPI(Maoist). Both Naxals were interrogated in separate rooms to extort information yet Pramod resisted all the attempts of information extraction performed by the police.

As a result of this, Pramod was sent to the Central Jail amidst tight security before his scheduled time period.

The arrest of Pramod Mishra is seen as a huge shock for the Maoists. Mishra was dedicated towards the cause of CPI (Maoist).

He was constantly working in the states of Bihar and Jharkhand to spread the Maoist agenda and to strengthen the organization.

He was also a key contributor towards the growth of the Naxal terror other states like Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana.

One of the crimes recorded in the account of Mishra is the case of four family members being hung to death in Gaya in the year 2021.

These members were hanged by Maoists on suspicion of being Police informers.

It is suspected that it was Pramod who gave the order of hanging the family members.

Before his arrest, both the NIA and the police force had been attempting to catch him for several months.

To weaken the hold of the terrorist organization of Naxals, it is important to remove leaders like Pramod Mishra from the power.

Removing the messengers from spreading the message will stop the spreading of CPI (Maoist) and its agenda.
