The rise of OTT platforms in Bharat has changed the way people watch films and web series. These platforms, such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, bring a lot of entertainment to our homes. But with this freedom, a big problem has come up. Many shows and movies on OTT platforms show content that goes against Bharatiya culture and traditions. This is a serious issue, and I believe strict regulation is the only way to fix it.
For a long time, Bharatiya culture has been about respect, family values, and traditions that hold society together. But many directors and producers on OTT platforms ignore this. They add vulgarity, abusive language, and ideas that do not fit with our values. They often show things that are more Western or woke, which feels like an attack on our traditions. For example, some web series show relationships and lifestyles that are far from what Bharatiya history and culture teach us. This is not what our youth should see. They should learn about our rich history and values, not ideas that confuse them or pull them away from their roots.

One big concern is how these platforms brainwash the youth. Recently, a popular show had people saying very bad things about their parents’ personal lives. Is this what we want our children to learn? Parents raise their kids with love and care, hoping they grow up with good values. But when they see such content, they start thinking it is okay to disrespect elders or follow harmful trends. This is not the path Bharat’s youth should take. The recent surge in propaganda through cinema and OTT platforms has twisted young minds. They are losing touch with what makes Bharat special.
Another issue is the propaganda in these shows. Many directors and producers seem to push ideas that harm Bharatiya culture. They add controversial content, sometimes to please certain groups who want to see our traditions fade away. For example, some shows twist history or show communities in a bad light, which creates tension. A well-known director of a popular film series has been heard using abusive language against a community in Bharat. Is this why people watch films? To hear abuse and negativity? No. People want stories that inspire them, not ones that spread hate or vulgarity.
The lack of regulation on OTT platforms makes this problem worse. Unlike traditional films, which the Central Board of Film Certification checks, OTT content often has no strict rules. This freedom allows creators to show anything, even if it hurts cultural or religious sentiments. In the past, shows have faced criticism for encouraging harmful ideas or showing disrespect to certain communities. Yet, many of these platforms continue to ignore the backlash. They hide behind the excuse of creative freedom, but creativity should not mean disrespecting a nation’s values.

Strict regulation is the only solution. The government has already taken some steps, like the Information Technology Rules of 2021, which ask OTT platforms to follow a code of ethics. But this is not enough. We need stronger laws to make sure content respects Bharatiya culture. Regulation will force creators to think twice before adding vulgarity or propaganda. It will bring balance, allowing creativity while protecting our traditions. Other countries, like Turkey and Indonesia, have strict rules for OTT platforms. Bharat should follow their example to safeguard its youth and culture.
In conclusion, OTT platforms must be strictly regulated in Bharat. The current freedom has led to content that harms our values, brainwashes the youth, and spreads propaganda. Regulation will ensure that films and web series respect our history and traditions. It is time to draw a line and protect the essence of Bharat for future generations.
